Just received the LFP Outbound Project Award Notification!

Yesterday got the news that the US Embassy in Kyiv authorized the Alumni Resource Center to support my Center's initiative to conduct an essay competition on the Bill of Rights, and today got the news from LFP!

The project's title is "Empowering Citizens, Strengthening Communities: Civil rights and local democracy in Ukraine"

Goals of Project:
  • To enhance partnerships between civil society organizations in the US and Ukraine, aimed at building the capacity of NGOs in Ukraine to defend individuals' civil rights, especially of the under-represented groups. 
  • To share best practices in building modern, sustainable communities through advocacy, direct participantion and raising of cultural awareness in ethnically diverse regions in the United States and Ukraine. 
  • To promote the use of state-of-the-art tools for collaboration and networking between participants and alumni of US-funded programs, NGOs and schools, strengthening mutual understanding and youth participantion - to jointly face common challenges. 

Project partner is American Civil Liberties Union of Hawaii!

  1. Update: project is cancelled, due to work obligations, noone from ACLU could travel to Ukraine... :(
