I've got a mail :)

Following inspirational experience of my colleague Serhiy Shtukarin I desided to apply for Legislative Fellowship Program.

Step by step I’ve been passing all stages, like application process, TOEFL exam, an interview and waiting, waiting and waiting…

And yesterday I’ve got a mail:

Dear Nadya,Congratulations! American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS is pleased to notify you that you have been selected as a finalist to participate in the Legislative Fellows cohort of Professional Fellows Program (PFP), sponsored by the U.S. State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.  Should you accept, you are invited to travel to the United States this fall for a six-week professional development and cross-cultural exchange (October 1-November 9, 2013).This year in particular, selection was very competitive so you should be proud of your accomplishment.

And I really do!

I’m very excited about participation in this program. I really hope that internship in USA and living in a family will bring me a huge professional and personal experience.

It’s not clear yet where I’m going to work and live, so I’m going to share it and other relevant information connected with the Legislative Fellows cohort of Professional Fellows Program in this blog.

Back to the USA with Open World!

Good news: Going back to the US in January as Open World facilitator - don't know where exactly yet!

On my Facebook page i started a small competition: The one who will correctly guess my destination will get a souvenir from me!

Yesterday got the news that the US Embassy in Kyiv authorized the Alumni Resource Center to support my Center's initiative to conduct an essay competition on the Bill of Rights, and today got the news from LFP!

The project's title is "Empowering Citizens, Strengthening Communities: Civil rights and local democracy in Ukraine"

Received my certificate!

Finally, I received the confirmation - I am going to Honolulu, Hawai'i! (hence the recent change of the blog's name)

Hooray! LFP Finalist Award Notification

Last week I received a letter, inviting me to travel to the United States as a participant of the Legislative Fellows Program:

Dear Sergiy,

Congratulations! American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS is pleased to notify you that you have been selected as a finalist to participate in the Legislative Fellows Program (LFP), sponsored by the U.S. State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.  Should you accept, you are invited to travel to the United States this Fall for a five-week professional development and cross-cultural exchange...

Having confirmed my willingness to participate in the LFP yesterday, I decided to start this blog as a tool to take record of my experiences during the coming internship in the US, and also as a bridge between my home community and the site of my future placement.
